  • Antiques Trade Gazette, 5 July 2008

Just to remind you, journals are usually for consultation only, but may be taken from the Library to use within the Institute, as long as they are returned before we close; this may be useful if you need to scan an image.  Journals cannot be taken from the Institute under any circumstances.

The following three periodicals arrived today:

  • Art in America, June-July 2008
  • Crafts, July-August 2008
  • Photograph, July-August 2008

You can find them all as usual on the ‘Current Magazines and Journals’ shelves next to the photocopiers.

Today, the following new journal issues arrived in the Library:

Modern painters, June 2008
Arts of Asia, May-June 2008
Art Review, July-August 2008
Artnews, June 2008: Special ecology issue

We also received the following sales catalogue:

The following two sales catalogues have just come in from Sotheby’s in Paris:

  • Art impressioniste & moderne: le surréalisme, vente du jour, Sotheby’s, Paris, 3 July 2008

They are available as usual on the Sales Catalogues and New Books shelves.

Two new books came into the Library this week:

  • Thomas Hope : Regency designer / David Watkin and Philip Hewat-Jaboor, editors; with contributions by Daniella Ben-Arie … [et al], shelfmark PAT.HOP.WAT

Both books will be on the shelves from today, and may be borrowed for the normal amount of time.

We have been receiving a lot of new books recently, so keep checking the blog to find out what’s come in.

For MACA students in particular, these new catalogues may be of particular interest:

Contemporary art: morning auction, Sotheby’s, London, 2 July 2008 (10am).
Contemporary art: afternoon auction, Sotheby’s London, 2 July 2008 (2pm).

They can be found on the ‘Sales Catalogues and New Books’ shelves.

Today the Library received two new periodicals: this week’s edition of the Antiques Trade Gazette, and the June edition of Art and Auction. These are on the ‘Current Magazines and Journals’ shelves.

We also received an Italian-language sales catalogue:
Dipinti e sculture del XIX secolo, Sotheby’s, Milan, 18 June 2008.
You will find it as usual on the ‘New Books and Sales Catalogues’ shelves.
